On April 9, a citywide clean–up was held in Almaty as part of the republican campaign "Birge - taza Qazaqstan". The main goal of the subbotnik is landscaping, improving the cleanliness and environmental situation of the city. Active participation in this event was attended by young students, faculty and staff of the Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Technology. Cleaning was carried out on the territory of the university. More than 200 people took part in the citywide clean-up. Cleaning started at 09: 00 and lasted until 12: 00.
