The Department of Technology, Equipment and Standardization held a seminar jointly with the Kazakhstan Association of Sugar, Food and Processing Indus

On September 26, 2022, a seminar was held at the Kazakhstan University of Engineering and Technology jointly with the Kazakhstan Association of Sugar, Food and Processing Industry. The seminar was attended by students of 1-4 courses of the educational program "Standardization and certification", "Biotechnology" and "Soil Science and agrochemistry". The purpose of the seminar: to familiarize a wide range of people with the work carried out, the concept of "Geographical indications", and also the project "Regional integration and capacity building for improving the competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in agribusiness and trade facilitation in Central Asia - CANDY V" was presented at the seminar within the framework of the fifth phase of the European Union program "Central Asia Asia – Invest".
The project's activities are aimed at increasing the competitiveness of processing enterprises in Central Asia through the introduction of commercial quality standards, food safety and the use of internationally recognized tools for promoting local products in Kazakhstan and abroad.
In Kazakhstan, "Almaty Aport" was selected as a product with geographical indication. The promotion of the product as a geographical indication will increase the recognition of the region, and will also contribute to the development of tourism.
