On April 4, the rector of the International University of engineering and technology Gulnar Sarsenbekova briefed the prime minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov on the concept of development of higher education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029, approved by the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 28, 2023 No. 248.
The concept consists of 3 main chapters: higher and postgraduate education, lifelong learning and science. 
The draft concept provides for 16 directions and 16 target indicators, 120 activities.

He noted that by 2029, it is expected to increase the level of satisfaction with the system of higher and postgraduate education for the development of the industry to 78%, an increase in the number of branches of foreign universities to 12 units and the number of foreign experts involved in teaching activities to 1,400 people, an increase in the level of satisfaction of the population with the range of services and the quality of informal education by 50%, an increase in the share of spending on science to 1% of GDP.
The concept will contribute to the availability of higher and postgraduate education, the growth of private sector investment and the solution of Applied Problems of the national and regional levels, the provision of advanced personnel in the infrastructure and digital architecture of higher education, and the increase in the global competitiveness of science.
The rector of the University noted that on the basis of the concept, the staff of the International University of engineering and technology is assigned a specific task and tasks are set.
