Goals and objectives of the discipline

The study of the discipline "Modern History of Kazakhstan" will allow the student to achieve a deep and holistic perception of the history of the Fatherland, the ability to distinguish genuine history based on facts and evidence, written, archaeological sources and scientific analysis from fictions and myth-making, the formation of a harmonious historical consciousness and ideological principles in accordance with national priorities, challenges and realities of the time; historical foundations and periods of formation of independent Kazakh statehood in the context of the world and Eurasian historical process; objectively and comprehensively comprehend the inherent advantages, features and significance of the Kazakh model of development; correlate individual phenomena and events of the historical past with the general paradigm of the world-historical development of human society

Brief description of the discipline: The course Modern History of Kazakhstan is an independent discipline and covers the period from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day. The modern history of Kazakhstan studies the national liberation movement of the Kazakh intelligentsia at the beginning of the XX century, the period of the creation of the Kazakh ASSR, as well as the process of formation of a multinational society.

Learning outcomes

According to the results of mastering the program, the student has the following learning outcomes (competencies):

  • possess knowledge of historical, cultural and scientific achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan; use data from historical sources and special literature; analyze and evaluate historical facts and events;
  • possess a broad socio-social, political and professional outlook;
  • discuss ethical, cultural, socially significant issues in discussions, express your point of view, defend it in a reasoned manner, critically evaluate the opinion of interlocutors.
