METU President, PhD, Professor D.B. Zhakebaev participated in a city scientific seminar at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On March 27, 2024, the President of the International Engineering and Technological University, PhD, Professor D.B. Zhakebayev, made a presentation at the 3rd city scientific seminar “Modern Problems of Applied and Computational Mathematics”, organized by the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

In his report “Modeling the Separation of Four-Component Mixtures Using Phase Field and LB Methods” Professor Zhakebayev presented the results of his research in the field of applied mathematics and technologies. Phase field and LB (Lattice Boltzmann) methods are innovative approaches to modeling the separation of multicomponent systems that have wide application in engineering and technical sciences.

Professor Zhakebayev`s report aroused great interest from the seminar participants, representatives of the scientific community and students. There was a discussion among the participants about the possibilities of applying the proposed methods in various fields such as chemical technology, oil and gas industry and many others.

The President of the International Engineering and Technological University emphasized the importance of such scientific seminars in the development of the scientific community and academic environment. The team and students of the Department of Mathematical and Computer Modeling express their sincere gratitude to Dauren Bakytbekovich for his interesting and useful report and look forward to his presentations again within the walls of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
