Cellular biotechnology

The purpose of the discipline is to form students' ideas about the main directions and prospects of development and achievements of modern biotechnology aimed at solving the problems of sustainable development, biological objects and processes used for this purpose. As a result of the training, the student will be able to formulate basic ideas about the basic laws and modern achievements of genetics and breeding, about genomics, proteomics, develop modern ideas about the basics of biotechnological and biomedical industries, genetic engineering, nanobiotechnology, molecular modeling, describe the theoretical foundations of the functioning of living systems and the biosynthesis of cellular metabolites.

Biotechnology plants

The purpose of mastering the discipline is to familiarize with the main achievements of biotechnology in agriculture at the current stage of its development, with the main directions of developments in the field of genetic, cellular engineering, as well as applied aspects of the use of these methods. As a result of studying the discipline, the student acquires the skills and assimilation of basic methods and techniques, amino acids, enzymes, preparations for crop production, the creation of biofertilizers, biological products, new plant varieties resistant to various factors, the assimilation of the achievements of biotechnology methods in the processing of agricultural waste.

Biochemistry

The purpose of the discipline is to train students to gain in-depth knowledge about the chemical composition of the body, the structure, properties of cells and about the metabolism and energy in a living organism. As a result of studying the discipline, the student masters the skills and techniques of working on devices and equipment used in biochemical laboratories of research and production profile.

Genetic engineering

The purpose of the discipline is the formation of theoretical knowledge among students on the fundamentals of modern biotechnology and practical applications, the study of methods of genetic engineering as a new direction of biotechnology, combining knowledge, techniques and techniques from a whole block of related sciences — genetics, biology, chemistry, virology for use in practice. As a result of the training, the student will be able to interpret methodological techniques used in obtaining cells with high generative and biosynthetic abilities, demonstrate knowledge of the principles of cellular organization of biological objects, biophysical and biochemical foundations, membrane processes of vital activity.

Biotechnology of microorganisms

The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the principles and features of microbiological processes used in biotechnology. As a result of the training, the student will comply with the requirements imposed on raw materials and microorganisms by producers, apply methods of cultivation of microorganisms, methods of isolation and purification of target products by specific industrial productions based on microbiological synthesis and transformation, conduct experiments using methods of cultivation of microorganisms.
