On April 26, International University of Engineering and Technology hosted a meeting on the topic «Patriotic education of student youth», organized by the departments of "Social and Humanitarian disciplines and world languages" and "Technique and technology of food production". The guests of the event were the head of the Institute of Military Affairs at the Mukhamedzhan Tynyshpaev Academy of Logistics and Transport - a participant in combat operations in Afghanistan, Master of Pedagogical Sciences, Colonel of the reserve Ishanov Ernazar Khamidullayevich, commander of the first peacekeeping detachment of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Iraq, knight of the Order of "Aybin" II degree, Candidate of pedagogical Sciences, Colonel of the reserve Smagulov Kairat Boranbaevich and PhD doctor Kudabaev Bolat Kalkhaevich, a veteran of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a reserve lieutenant colonel.

At the opening of the meeting, the head of the department Zhappasov Zh. E. introduced the guests and noted the importance of patriotic education of young people. 

During the event, the guests told the students interesting facts about the history of the creation and development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the present stage, about the tasks of participants in combat operations in Afghanistan. Also, based on slides prepared by the first peacekeeping detachment of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Iraq on the work done, assistance provided to the local population and work on the neutralization of battlefields from explosives. For university students, the guests of the event showed a video based on excerpts from documentaries from the Great Patriotic War and the Afghan War. During the meeting, the students asked the guests questions related to the topic and expressed satisfaction with the answers they received. In addition, talented university students read their poems on a special patriotic topics, sang songs and performed kuis. The guests expressed their appreciation for the performance of the university students.

At the end of the meeting, university professors Shaimukhanova S. D., Nurtazayeva A. B., Zorzhanov B. D., Kareneeva J. A. and Tokanova J. K. were awarded the jubilee medal «65th anniversary of Lieutenant General Saparov Malik» by the decision of the «Council of Generals» of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The awarded teachers expressed their gratitude to the «Council of Generals», the guests of the meeting.
