On January 9, 2025, the rector of METU University Sarsenbekova Gulnar Alibekovna held a meeting with active students in an online format. This meeting became an important event for the university student community. During the meeting, proposals and opinions of students were heard, and an initiative was put forward to declare 2025 the «Year of Student Government».

Undoubtedly, such measures will contribute to the development of the university and strengthen the relationship between students and the administration.
