On January 29, METU hosted the first meeting of the Academic Council in 2025. The meeting was chaired by METU Rector G.A. Sarsenbekova. Rector Gulnar Alibekovna Sarsenbekova upheld tradition in the new year, beginning the Academic Council meeting on a positive note.

Rector G.A. Sarsenbekova presented certificates to the best speakers of the educational and methodological conference «Models and Methods of Teaching in the Context of Improving the Quality of Engineering Education», which was held as part of Winter School – 2025.

The agenda included discussions on the results of the winter examination session for the 2024-2025 academic year and measures to improve academic work; the state of educational, methodological, research, and youth policy at the departments; and the approval of thesis supervisors and topics for students in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The Director of the Registrar`s Office, A.Aldiyar, delivered a report on the results of the fall semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, providing a detailed analysis of the interim assessment results.

According to the report, METU students generally passed the session successfully. Referring to the academic performance in each department, she highlighted that some departments had improved their performance compared to previous years, which is a positive trend.

All department heads discussed the state of educational, methodological, research, and youth policy at their departments and shared their long-term plans for the future.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Rector G.A. Sarsenbekova thanked all participants for their contributions to the development of the university and wished them success in the new year.
