On February 10, 2025, the Scientific Library of the International Engineering and Technology University hosted a musical and literary evening titled «A Rare Genius Born Once in a Century» as part of the «Spiritual Values» series. The event was dedicated to the works of Mukagali Makatayev, an eternal heir of Kazakh poetry and a true master of words. It was jointly organized by the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and World Languages in collaboration with the Scientific Library. Mukagali Makatayev’s poetry, a guiding light of Kazakh literature, is regarded as the pinnacle of national spirit and remains deeply embedded in the people’s memory. This literary and musical evening, held in honor of the poet’s birthday, aimed to celebrate his literary heritage and foster a love for literature among the younger generation.

During the event, university faculty members and students passionately recited the poet’s heartfelt verses, immersing themselves in Mukagali’s world. Additionally, the event featured special guests, including his fellow villager, retired teacher Tileukhan Orazkhanovna Mergenbayeva, and renowned journalist Arai Zhumashkyzy. The evening was further enriched by video presentations showcasing Mukagali Makatayev’s life and creative journey, allowing poetry lovers to embark on a captivating literary voyage. This event became a true celebration of art and literature, bringing together admirers of poetry and culture. Teachers and students actively participated in the discussions, expressively reading Mukagali’s poems and sharing their thoughts. We believe that the poet’s legacy, presented during this evening, will inspire young minds and help them nurture their creative talents!
