On February 27, 2025, a panel session of the International Student Leaders Forum "Global Student Leadership: Development, Influence, Action" was held on the topic "Global Future and Artificial Intelligence." The event was organized by faculty members, students, and invited experts.
The session was moderated by K.E. Myrzakhanova, who welcomed the participants and set the tone for the discussion, highlighting key issues related to the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on global processes. The session featured presentations covering various aspects of AI development and implementation.
A.M. Zhunusova – Big Data Analyst delivered a presentation titled "Artificial Intelligence in the World and Kazakhstan." The speaker provided an overview of the current state of AI technologies on a global scale, with a particular focus on their applications in the economy, healthcare, and education. She noted the active implementation of AI in Kazakhstan, especially in government administration and business, but also emphasized existing challenges such as the shortage of qualified specialists and the need for further digital infrastructure development.
D.A. Aktaylakova – Lecturer at the Department of "Smart Technologies in Engineering" presented a talk on "Global Future and Artificial Intelligence." In her speech, she discussed the prospects for the development of artificial intelligence in the context of globalization and its role in transforming the technological landscape. The speaker noted that AI opens new horizons for science and the economy, but alongside these opportunities, there are also challenges related to ethical concerns, regulation, and technology control.
Isaac Opare – International First-Year Student of the "Software Engineering" Educational Program delivered a presentation titled "Bridging Cultures: A Ghanaian Student`s Perspective on METU University." Isaac shared his personal experience studying at METU University, emphasizing how technology and artificial intelligence contribute to global interaction among students from different countries. He highlighted Kazakhstan`s great potential for developing innovative technologies and noted that international cooperation in AI plays a key role in scientific progress.
After the presentations, a lively discussion took place, during which participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers. Students actively shared their views on the future of artificial intelligence, discussing its ethical aspects, opportunities, and risks for Kazakhstan and the world at large.
