On 06.11.2021, in order to promote a healthy lifestyle and strengthen the health of students,we visited the famous ice rink "Medeu", located in Almaty.

Medeu is a large sports complex located on the slopes of the Trans-Ili Alatau at an altitude of 1691.2 m above sea level.Construction of the complex began in the autumn of 1949, and the first official games were held on February 4, 1951. Artificial ice was laid at the stadium only in 1972.An ice rink for winter sports games, the area of an artificial ice field is 10.5 thousand square meters, the thickness of the ice cover on the rink is 2.3 meters. A comfortable climate in the foothills, favorable levels of solar radiation, low air pressure and clean mountain water ensure the high quality of ice. More than 120 world records were set here.The complex is an indispensable place even in summer. Various sports competitions are held there. And in winter, the main season opens.

The event was attended by students of the Department of "natural science disciplines" of the Kazakhstan engineering and Technological University, who had a fun time in nature, breathing fresh air.
