According to the Atlas of new professions, one of the most in–demand personnel on the demand of time are chemical engineers. It is known that comfortable life on Earth is largely due to the science of chemistry and chemical technology. Chemists, chemical engineers, biochemists create and develop processes for converting raw materials into products on which life in society depends: food, chemicals, fuel, energy, metals, pharmaceuticals, paper, plastics and personal care products, etc. It is chemical engineers and technologists who help manage natural resources, protect the environment, and monitor occupational health and safety procedures. In this context, we can proudly say that the Kazakhstan Engineering and Technological University trains highly qualified personnel in the specialty 6B07101 - Chemical technology of organic substances.

The proposed educational program on chemical technologies of organic substances gives students the opportunity to participate in the development /improvement of technology, as well as scientific research in the field of chemical engineering for the processing of oil and petroleum products, based on theoretical study, practical and laboratory performance according to the proposed catalogs of elective disciplines. The student is given the opportunity to choose a trajectory for optimization, control of technological processes or research of the nature of chemical reactions using professional chemical engineering programs for modeling large and complex production lines. This program provides graduates with the theoretical foundations of chemical and technological engineering, bioengineering and materials science, as well as experimental and practical aspects of creating a technology for obtaining unique properties of new materials necessary for the development of the industrial economy as a whole.

Chemical engineering involves the chemical exchange between substances when raw materials are converted into products. It also explores the nature of chemical reactions and includes process and equipment optimization, commissioning and design, troubleshooting and problem solving. Chemical engineers can work in such areas as: water supply and water purification; oil refining; electricity generation; food production; cosmetics and clothing production, etc. Competent chemical engineers and chemical technologists are in great demand in such industries as the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, there is an increasing demand for them in environmental projects and the food industry.
