Professor of the Institute of fuel, catalysis and electrochemistry named after D. V. Sokolsky held a lecture at METU University

Within the framework of the project "Safe and Healthy University", the Department of Biochemical Engineering organized a lecture with Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Alma Tulegenovna Masenova from the D. V. Sokolsky Institute of Fuel, Catalysis and Electrochemistry on the topic "Promising green technologies to improve the ecological state of Kazakhstan". The lecture was attended by students of the educational programs "Biotechnology" and "Bioengineering and Bioinformatics". Green chemistry is a scientific field in chemistry that includes any improvement of chemical processes that have a positive impact on the environment, and it includes the choice of starting materials and process schemes that exclude the use of harmful substances. Twelve principles of "green chemistry", directions of development of "green chemistry", what problems can be solved by "green technologies" were separately considered and discussed at the lecture. Summing up the lecture, the students conducted an interesting section of questions and answers, which ended with the motto "Green chemistry is the way to a green economy, to the future of Kazakhstan".
