of the Department of Social
and Humanitarian Disciplines and
World Languages,
Candidate of Historical Sciences,
Associate Professor, Shaimukhanova
S.D., lecturer
Nurtazayeva A.B. and
students of groups PI-23-1p,
TiPP-23k, held a round
table dedicated
to the 135th anniversary
of the birth of Sanzhar Asfendiarov
(1889-1938). The students showed
presentations on the life and
scientific activities, the family of Sanjar
Asfendiarov. He was
among the first leaders
and organizers
who laid the foundation of the Kazakh Academy
of Sciences base. In accordance
with the spirit of the historical time,
when the Kazakh people
experienced an acute shortage
of scientists, specialists, educated people,
Sanjar Asfendiyarov conducted extensive
scientific work, devoting
himself to medical,
scientific, pedagogical, political, and
organizational activities. Among
his works,
one can single out "The
Past of Kazakhstan in
sources and materials"
in 1935. The publication of
this unique
collection of data was
an event that had a significant
place in
the scientific life of the republic.
On August 22,
1937, he was repressed
as an "enemy
of the people." By
the decision of the Supreme Court
of the USSR dated May
26, 1958,
S.D. Asfendiyarov
was rehabilitated.
"Valuable treasures of oral literature,
such as
proverbs and sayings
from the funds of our
national culture, disappear
without a trace over the years. It is our duty
to leave a rich historical
heritage for future
generations," Sanjar Asfendiyarov
said.
