On January 9, 2025, the International University of Engineering and Technology hosted the opening of the educational and methodological conference «Models and teaching methods in the context of improving the quality of engineering education».

The educational and methodological conference for METU teachers provides an environment for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, promotes mutual understanding between different fields of science and education, and stimulates the development of critical thinking, research skills, and academic communication. 

Elena Solodova, Head of the Department of Biochemical Engineering, presented a report on the implementation of ESG principles in the higher education system. Based on the results of the report, it was decided to open a METU Center for Sustainable Development according to ESG standards at the department.
