On January 24, 2025, the university held the first Scientific and
Technical Council (STC) meeting in the conference hall. This key collegial body
was established to coordinate scientific and innovative activities and
strategically plan research work.
The STC members, including department heads, project leaders, and teaching staff representatives, attended the meeting. The agenda included the annual report of departments on research activities and the progress of scientific research projects, during which department heads, project leaders, and responsible executors presented the results of completed projects, emphasizing achievements and innovative solutions. The meeting also discussed the regulations for the «Best Young Researcher of METU» competition, which will be held for the first time among university students and aims to support young talents, motivate them, and integrate them into their scientific activities.
The meeting addressed the past year`s results and plans for 2025,
including the development strategy for scientific directions and promoting
scientific achievements. Additionally, a decision was made to implement a
hybrid format for STC meetings, ensuring greater flexibility and accessibility
for all council members.
