Engineering Day: Students Discussed Technologies and Key Initiatives

On March 4, 2025, as part of the advisory hour, students from groups SS-23-1r and SS-24-1k participated in a meeting dedicated to Engineering Day. The event was organized by Gulzira Shabaykyzy Jumabekova, a technical sciences master`s degree holder and an advisor-lecturer at the Department of Food Production Equipment and Technologies, with the participation of Saule Dyusetaevna Shaimukhanova, the university advisors’ coordinator and an associate professor at the Department of Social and Humanitarian Sciences and World Languages.

During the meeting, students discussed the significance of engineering professions and their role in the development of modern technologies. Today, engineering has become an integral part of various industries, contributing significantly to sustainable development. Given the growing demand for technical professions, students exchanged views on current trends and future opportunities in the field.

Special attention was given to the fact that the event coincided with the holy month of Ramadan. In light of this, the advisor congratulated students observing the fast, wishing them good health, well-being, and spiritual growth. Ramadan is not only a time of self-restraint and patience but also a period of good deeds and charity. Accordingly, the discussion also touched upon students` social responsibility and their contributions to the community.

Additionally, students were reminded that midterm assessments would begin on March 10 and that timely tuition payment is crucial. A key part of the meeting focused on volunteer work, encouraging students to take part in charitable initiatives and support children in orphanages.

This advisory session proved to be a valuable and inspiring experience for students. They gained a deeper understanding of the importance of engineering education and its societal role while also reflecting on their social responsibilities. The event once again demonstrated that engineering education encompasses not only technical skills but also instills essential moral values.
