As part of Science Week 2025, the
International Engineering and Technology University (METU) successfully hosted
two open lectures within the series "Scientific Ideas for Future
Leaders", aimed at nurturing research thinking and career planning among
students.
On April 9, the first lecture took
place: "Using Artificial Intelligence in Academic Writing", speaker:
PhD Turdalyuly Musa.
The lecture introduced modern AI
tools applied in academic writing, automated text analysis, and research
structuring. Special attention was given to ethical considerations and the
limitations of AI usage in science. Students and young researchers received
practical insights on how to enhance their scientific publications and data
processing workflows.
On April 10, the second lecture
followed: "From Idea to Career: How Students Can Turn Scientific Ideas
into Professional Growth", speaker: Aigerim Zhunusova, academic project
coordinator.
This session was focused on building
a strategic research and career path, discussing participation in grant
programs, scientific competitions, and early involvement in research activities.
Both lectures attracted strong
interest from undergraduate, master`s, and PhD students. The open dialogue
format allowed participants to ask questions, discuss real-world cases, and
receive personal guidance from the speakers.
The lecture series "Scientific
Ideas for Future Leaders" became a meaningful part of Science Week at
METU, reflecting the university`s commitment to developing a generation of
motivated, research-oriented professionals.
