On April 24,
2025, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines and World
Languages, in collaboration with the literary club "Söz Qudireti",
organized a cultural event entitled “Abai
– A Symbol of National Spirit” to mark the 180th anniversary of the
great Kazakh poet, philosopher, and founder of the modern Kazakh literary
language – Abai Qunanbaiuly. The evening took place in a literary and musical
format, engaging participants in a multifaceted exploration of Abai’s legacy. Guided by the words of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
emphasizing the importance of commemorating Abai’s jubilee with dignity, Kazakh
language instructors brought together students from various engineering
disciplines. The aim was to introduce future professionals to Abai’s
intellectual world and acquaint them with the richness of his works.
This was not
merely a tribute to a single poet but a broader celebration of the nation’s
spiritual heritage. The event was intended to popularize Abai’s legacy, foster
ethical and philosophical reflection among the youth, and reinterpret his ideas
within the framework of contemporary challenges. Students actively participated by reciting excerpts from Abai’s Book of Words, delivering his poems
expressively, analyzing famous quotations about him, and performing songs
composed to his poetry. Their enthusiastic involvement reflected a deep
appreciation for the cultural value of Abai’s work.
