On May 16, 2025, a meeting with representatives of the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held at the International University of Engineering and Technology (METU). The Department of Biochemical Engineering presented the scientific works of doctoral students and students, as well as discussed issues of future scientific cooperation.

As part of the meeting, exhibition materials of METU doctoral students were presented. Thus, Tashkenbaeva Akerke demonstrated a study on the topic of "Improvement of planting material of Fragaria ananassa varieties of foreign collections for the creation of basic mother plants." Dukenbaeva Bagdat presented a work on the topic of "Study of seeds of the medicinal plant Dracocephalum ruyschiana L. for further storage in the Seed Bank." Filatov Ivan shared materials on the topic of "Study of the antagonistic activity of collection cultures of lactic acid bacteria in relation to pathogens of bread." The guests were especially interested in the project presented by Tugeeva Alfiya. The student presented the results of the scientific project "Epidemiology and Molecular Biology of the Resistome of Bird Pathogens", which became an important step in the scientific research of the department and evoked a lively response from the participants of the event.

During the meeting, the guests from China noted the importance of scientific exchange and discussed the prospects for developing joint projects in the field of biochemical engineering. Particular attention was paid to the development of an academic exchange program between METU and the Shenyang Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which will open up new opportunities for students and teachers of both sides. It is planned to deepen cooperation in the framework of joint scientific research, as well as expand opportunities for internships and scientific practices for METU students.
