Round Table at MЕTU: Key Issues of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in the Presidential Address
On 12 September 2025, the International Engineering and Technological University (MIETU) hosted a round table dedicated to the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to the Nation. Faculty members of the Departments of Social-Humanitarian Disciplines and World Languages and Biochemical Engineering, as well as first-year students, took part in the event. Opening the meeting, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor A.S. Sisenbayeva highlighted the key priorities of the Head of State’s Address “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Urgent Tasks and Their Solutions through Digital Transformation,” stressing that this year’s Address focuses on digitalization and artificial intelligence.
            Students presented reports on a wide range of pressing topics. Maria Krupina (TiPP-25-1k) discussed “The Transition to a Unicameral Parliament in Kazakhstan,” underlining a new stage of political reform. Indira Bekbolatkyzy Zhusip (BZ-25-1k) spoke on “Environmental Risks of the Caspian Sea and the Protection of Water Resources,” drawing attention to the shallowing of the sea and the destruction of its ecosystem, and welcomed the presidential initiative to launch a state program to save the Caspian. Other speakers included Dina Zamanova on “Law and Order: Anti-social Behavior in Public Spaces,” Altynai Maratova on “Combating High Inflation in Kazakhstan,” Adilet Baimuratov on “The Alatau-City Project,” Anel Koshkarbayeva on “Digital Transformation in Education,” Ruslan Zhumabekov on “Preferences and Support for Domestic Products in the Kazakhstani Market,” and Yana Kononenko on “Key Aspects of the Development of SEZ Alatau City.” Participants emphasized the timeliness and importance of the issues raised in the Presidential Address and expressed keen interest in the ongoing modernization processes in the country.
