On September 22, 2025, the Kazakhstan–China Forum “Promoting China–Kazakhstan Educational Cooperation in the New Era of Higher Education” was held in Almaty.
The Forum was organized by the Akimat of Almaty city, the Association of Universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Government of Sichuan Province (PRC).
From the Chinese side, the event was attended by the delegation of Sichuan Province headed by the Governor, rectors of leading universities, as well as heads of the departments of education, international cooperation, and exchange. The Forum was aimed at expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation within the framework of the “Sichuan–Almaty University Alliance”, as well as at fostering international cooperation and academic exchange between universities of Kazakhstan and China.
From the International Engineering and Technological University (METU), the Forum was attended by the Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ms. Karlygash Shokhayeva, together with representatives of the faculty staff of the university.
Participation in this event provided a unique opportunity to:
establish new professional contacts,
discuss current issues and prospects for the development of higher education,
exchange best practices with leading universities of China.
METU continues to actively develop strategic international partnerships, contributing to the strengthening of educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and China.
