The Department of Food Production Engineering and Technology Took Part in the Annual Orchard Day

On September 9, 2025, the annual Orchard Day was held at the Kazakh Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing, organized jointly with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by the President of the Academy, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akim of Almaty Region, leading international and domestic scientific experts, as well as representatives of government bodies, business, and the academic community.

From the Department of Food Production Engineering and Technology, first-year doctoral student Zhomartkyzy T. and second-year doctoral student Tautayeva A.T. participated, along with students from the "Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Agro-Soil Science" educational program. Our young scientists presented their research projects, including gluten-free bakery products, as well as biologically active supplements (BAS) and enterosorbents made from sea buckthorn and rosehip.

Head of the Department, Abuova A.B., actively contributes to the advancement of scientific research in the field of food technology and supports the department’s participation in important industry events.

The event program included discussions on key issues such as the development of fruit and vegetable production in Kazakhstan, food security, strengthening of the breeding base, and the implementation of modern technologies in the sector.

Participation in such events promotes the development of scientific research, the expansion of academic and professional cooperation, and the formation of practical skills among students.
