On October 9, 2025, a practical and educational master class on the topic “Isolation of Genomic DNA from Human Blood Using the Promega Kit” was held at the Institute of Genetics and Physiology. The event was organized by the Department of Biochemical Engineering (BHI) and conducted by PhD Lyazzat Zenaurynkyzy Musralina, a lecturer of the department. During the master class, participants learned about the stages of DNA isolation, the specifics of working with biological samples, and the principles of the Promega reagents widely used in molecular biology laboratories.
In the practical part, students of group BIO-23-1r independently performed the procedure of genomic DNA isolation under the supervision of the instructor. During the process, they practiced handling laboratory equipment, centrifuges, pipettes, and reagents correctly, as well as learned to follow biological safety requirements. Such master classes organized by the Department of BHI contribute to the development of professional competencies of future specialists, foster their interest in scientific research, and deepen their understanding of molecular and genetic processes.
