Every year, first-year students of the Department of Biochemical Engineering traditionally take part in orientation tours of the university library. These events aim to help students adapt to the academic environment, learn about the library’s resources, and develop skills for effectively using printed and electronic materials.

This year’s tour took place on September 26 and was led by the Head of the Library, Zagi Saduaqasovna Makhambetova. During the visit, students were introduced to the collection of academic and scientific literature, learned how to use the electronic catalog, databases, and online resources. Such orientation sessions enhance students’ information literacy, helping them master the skills of finding and using necessary materials throughout their studies.

In addition, the library staff explained the rules for using the reading room, the procedure for borrowing textbooks, and the opportunities for independent work with research materials. The students showed particular interest in the modern digital services that allow online access to books and scientific articles. The tour took place in a warm and informative atmosphere, leaving students with positive impressions and motivating them to use the library’s resources more actively.
