“Taza Qala” Environmental Campaign in the Bostandyk District.
On September 6, 2025, students of the International Engineering and Technology University (METU) actively took part in the “Taza Qala” environmental campaign held in the Bostandyk district of Almaty city.
The main goal of this initiative was to promote environmental awareness among youth and draw attention to the importance of cleanliness and preserving the urban environment. Together with faculty members and representatives of the district administration, METU students cleaned parks, pedestrian areas, and planted young trees to help improve green spaces in the area.
This joint effort brought students together and filled the day with positive energy and a spirit of community service.
The METU administration highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering environmental responsibility and developing a culture of volunteerism among students.
– “We are proud of our students who actively participate in social and environmental initiatives. Every such event helps make our city cleaner and more comfortable,” noted university representatives.
The “Taza Qala” campaign became more than just a clean-up event — it symbolized METU students’ care for the future of their city and the environment.
