On August 29, 2025, representatives of the International Engineering and Technology University (METU) took part in a training session held in the assembly hall of the GMK building at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satbayev.
The event was organized as part of the citywide project “Life Is the Highest Value”, implemented with the support of the Department of Youth Policy of Almaty City. The project aims to promote suicide prevention, drug abuse prevention, prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and sexual education and healthy lifestyle awareness among youth.
From METU, the meeting was attended by senior advisors from the Departments of “Economics and Business,” “Smart Technologies in Engineering,” and “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines and World Languages.” Participants took part in a series of thematic training sessions, including:
“Suicide Prevention”
“Prevention of Harmful Habits”
“Prevention of STIs”
“Sexual Education and Youth Health”
During the event, psychologists and field experts discussed pressing issues faced by today’s youth and shared effective approaches to psychological support and early prevention among students.
Organizers emphasized that the main goal of the project is to increase youth awareness and to encourage responsible attitudes toward personal health and well-being.
