As part of the
course “Fundamentals of Biotechnology,” students of the Department of
Biochemical Engineering took part in a master class titled “Practical
Application of Electrophoretic Separation of Nucleic Acids in Agarose Gel,”
held at the Scientific Center for Anti-Infective Agents.
The master class
was conducted by Ilya Sergeevich Korotetsky, Candidate of Biological Sciences,
Associate Professor, and Research Professor — a highly qualified specialist in
the field of molecular biology and biochemical research.
During the
session, students learned about modern molecular biology techniques, studied
the principles of electrophoresis, and independently performed the separation
of nucleic acid samples in agarose gel. Under the guidance of Professor
Korotetsky, participants mastered the techniques of gel preparation, sample
loading, result interpretation, and discussed the practical importance of this
method for diagnostics and scientific research.
The master class
enabled students to consolidate their theoretical knowledge through practice,
develop professional skills, and gain valuable experience working with modern
laboratory equipment.
This event became
an important step in the training of future specialists in the fields of
biochemistry and biotechnology, contributing to the development of competencies
essential for successful scientific and research activities.
