At the International Engineering and Technological University (METU), a meeting of the academic and teaching staff was held on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Education: New Horizons of Development.”

The event was led by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Relations Assel Asylbekovna and Vice-Rector for Science, Innovation Policy, and Marketing Oksana Leonidovna.

During the meeting, participants discussed the prospects for applying artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process, issues of digital transformation in teaching, and the preparation of faculty members for the effective use of AI tools in their professional activities.

Special attention was given to the initiative of the Department of Software Engineering, which will be responsible for implementing the “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence” course for the university’s teaching staff. This initiative represents an important step toward enhancing the digital competence of educators and introducing innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

It was also decided to update the syllabus of the “Information and Communication Technologies” course starting from the 11th week of the semester, allowing the integration of modern AI modules into the educational process.

This event marked an important step toward creating an intelligent educational environment within the university and strengthening METU’s position as an innovative center for training the next generation of specialists.
