The program is focused on studying modern trends in artificial intelligence, digitalization of production, and “smart” technologies that are actively being implemented in the educational and engineering sectors in China.
This internship is conducted as part of an international academic cooperation agreement between METU and Jiangsu University of Technology, aimed at developing professional competencies in information technology, engineering, and innovative manufacturing.
The internship began with an official opening ceremony at the university library, where Makсат Akseleu, a master`s student from the “Software Engineering” department, spoke on behalf of the METU delegation.
"For us, this is not just an internship, but an opportunity to become part of the international educational space and see how `Industry 4.0` and intelligent technologies are being implemented in China. We are grateful to METU and the host side for their support and trust," he said.
After the ceremony, students attended a lecture on “Chinese Intelligent Manufacturing and the Industry 4.0 Strategy”, where they learned about the practical application of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and automation in industrial enterprises.
During classes and meetings, students actively engage in discussions, ask questions, share experiences, and present briefings on digital projects from METU, demonstrating a high level of preparation and interest in international collaboration.
As part of the program, the METU students visited Li Auto (Lixiang), one of the leaders in the field of intelligent electric vehicles. Students got acquainted with the process of designing and assembling modern cars, where AI technologies, machine vision systems, and big data analytics are actively integrated.
Participants also visited the Far East Cable enterprise, the Sithaihu Health Demonstration Center, and the Chen Liusheng Oil Lamp Museum, where they learned about the integration of engineering solutions and cultural heritage.
The international internship at Jiangsu University of Technology has become a significant milestone for METU students` professional and personal development. It helps deepen their knowledge in IT and engineering technologies, develop intercultural communication and teamwork skills, and strengthen their understanding of the role of digital solutions in the modern world.
This international experience is an important step toward preparing innovative thinkers ready to implement new technologies and contribute to the digital transformation of Kazakhstan.
