The Student Initiation Ceremony was solemnly held at the International Engineering and Technology University (IETU/MITU). Following tradition, the evening began with a performance of one of the university`s most beloved and historical moments – the student anthem "GAUDEAMUS" – performed by the 1st-year students.

The University Rector, Akpanbetov Darkhan Berikovich, presented Certificates of Honor to the best and most active students in celebration of International Students` Day.

First-year students took their first steps into student life by performing a formal waltz and taking the Student Oath.

A significant part of the event was the revival of the Scientific Student Organization (SSO). This organization engages students in scientific projects, mastering modern technologies, conducting experiments, and preparing initial scientific publications. New SSO members were awarded certificates and financial prizes.

The Deputy Head of the Almaty City Youth Policy Department, Kenesbay Almaz Abaevich, participated in the event, presenting letters of appreciation to the students for their contribution to the development of the city and the university. Furthermore, Sarsenghali Arailymriza was elected as the new Student Rector of METU during the ceremony.

The honored guests who congratulated the students included the heads of the Kazakh Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing, the Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine named after Zh. Zhiyembayev, the Research Institute of Zoology, as well as employers – representatives from "Aksai" Bread and Bakery Complex" LLP and "SeaStar" LLP. Among the guests were also: Duissembekov Bakytzhan Alisherovich – Chairman of the Board of the Kazakh Research Institute for Plant Protection and Quarantine named after Zh. Zhiyembayev, Candidate of Biological Sciences, and Yashchenko Roman Vasilievich – General Director of the Research Institute of Zoology, Doctor of Biological Sciences. They extended their warm wishes to the students and invited them to participate in international programs and internships.

The solemn ceremony of initiating first-year students into the student body was held at a high level at the International Engineering and Technology University. This celebration became a clear manifestation of the new students` bold step into student life and their aspiration for future professional development.
