On October 15, 2025, the International Engineering and Technology University METU held the annual student festival UIYM Fest 2025, aimed at promoting extracurricular engagement and encouraging students to participate in university clubs and initiatives. The event served as an important platform for presenting the wide range of opportunities METU offers in the fields of creativity, leadership, media, volunteer work, and community development.
Presentation of Student Clubs and Recruitment of New Members
As part of UIYM Fest, METU’s key student organizations presented their activities and upcoming projects:
Qamqor Volunteer Club — promoting volunteerism and implementing social initiatives.
Kerbez Dance Club — developing dance culture and organizing choreographic events.
Student Council “Stud Sovet” — fostering an active student community and participating in university governance.
Art Centre — supporting creative students through artistic and creative workshops.
Media & PR Club — media production, photo/video content creation, PR projects, and information campaigns.
Shyn Debat Club — developing critical thinking, public speaking, and debate skills.
Each club organized its own interactive stand where students could learn about ongoing projects, ask questions, participate in small activities, and apply for membership. This format helped first-year students clearly understand the personal and professional growth opportunities provided through student organizations at METU.
Interactive Program of the Festival
In addition to club presentations, the UIYM Fest program included:
performances by student creative groups,
interactive zones and games,
themed photo areas and creative activities,
an evening disco.
The festival fostered a dynamic and open atmosphere, creating favorable conditions for communication, idea exchange, and the emergence of new student initiatives.
Importance of UIYM Fest for the METU Student Community
UIYM Fest 2025 reaffirmed METU’s commitment to supporting student development not only academically but also in extracurricular spheres. The festival became an essential starting point for first-year students, encouraging them to engage in university life, join clubs, and bring their ideas to life through collective projects.
METU will continue to support student-led organizations and create opportunities for the development of talent, leadership, and social activity among its students.
