METU Participates in the First QS Eurasia Forum 2025 in Tashkent

The International Engineering and Technological University (METU) is participating in the first QS Eurasia Forum 2025, held on November 25–26 in Tashkent at the Central Asian University (CAU). The event is organized jointly with QS Quacquarelli Symonds with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Forum, which gathered leaders of universities, government bodies, and international organizations, has become a key Eurasian platform for discussing global higher education development strategies. This year’s theme — “Expanding Horizons: Building Global Bridges in Higher Education” — focuses on strengthening international partnerships, developing scientific collaboration, and enhancing the global visibility of universities in the region.

The Forum brought together leading representatives of the higher education sector, including QS President Nunzio Quacquarelli, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Higher Education of Uzbekistan Prof. Dr. Kongratbay Sharipov, UAE University Chancellor H.E. Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, President of the Central Asian University Kamran Gulamov, as well as QS Regional Director Sergey Khristolyubov.

A notable highlight of the event was the speech delivered by Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who emphasized the importance of expanding international scientific collaboration, strengthening joint initiatives, and advancing the role of Eurasian universities in the global academic landscape.

METU states that participating in QS Eurasia 2025 represents an important step toward strengthening its international presence, opening new opportunities for joint research, cross-border programs, and further integration into the global academic community.

The Forum will conclude with strategic recommendations aimed at enhancing Eurasia’s contribution to global educational dialogue and expanding cooperation among universities across the region.
