On 27 November 2025, the
International Engineering and Technological University (MЕTU) in Almaty hosted the international scientific-practical conference “Kazakhstan in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Dialogue of History,
Culture, Language, and Technologies.” The event brought together
leading academics, experts, doctoral candidates, and young researchers from
Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Pakistan, along with MITU faculty and
students. The total number of participants, both offline and online, exceeded
200.
The
conference opened with a substantive welcoming address by the Rector of the International Engineering and Technological University,
Corresponding Member of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of
Kazakhstan, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Darkhan Berikuly Akpanbetov. In his speech, he emphasized the transformational
impact of artificial intelligence on the modern scientific paradigm, ongoing
shifts in the education system, and the importance of interdisciplinary
research—highlighting the scientific and practical significance of the event
organized by MITU.
During
the plenary session, speakers presented comprehensive insights into the
influence of AI across science, education, culture, the social sphere, as well
as digital historical studies.

and Cultural Heritage: Interpretation, Preservation, and Future Prospects — digital archiving, AI-based
analysis of historical texts, and virtual museum development; MITU students
presented applied research projects. Language Policy and Education: Multilingualism,
National Identity, and Intercultural Dialogue — multilingual
education models, AI-supported translation systems, and linguistic identity
strategies. New
Technologies and Artificial Intelligence: Economy, Society, and Sustainable
Development — AI-driven societal transformation, data security,
algorithmic justice, and digital ethics.
The
concluding session resulted in recommendations on:
• the digital preservation of historical and cultural heritage;
• effective integration of AI technologies into education;
• strengthening MЕTU’s international academic
partnerships;
• improving standards of digital safety and ethics.
