On November
26, 2025, a curatorial hour dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the
outstanding Kazakh public figure Mirzhakyp Dulatov was held in group
TMO-25-1.2.k.
The event was
organized by the Advisor Coordinator Shaymukhanova S.D. and the group curator, Mazhiyeva
E.M., master of technical sciences, lecturer at the Department of TiPP.
During the event, students
prepared thematic presentations and speeches highlighting the main stages of
the writer’s life and work, as well as his socio-political activities and
contribution to the development of national culture and education.
Mirzhakyp
Dulatov (1885–1935) was a poet, writer, publicist, public figure, and educator.
In the history of Kazakhstan, his name ranks alongside Alikhan Bukeikhanov and
Akhmet Baitursynov — representatives of the national intelligentsia who played
a key role in the revival of Kazakh national identity in the early 20th
century. He was an active participant in public and political life and a member
of the Alash Orda government, making a significant contribution to the
development of education, literature, and the idea of independence.
Special
attention was given to his famous book “Oyan, Qazaq!”, published in 1911 and
later confiscated by the Main Directorate for Press Affairs, as the author
himself later recalled in his memoirs. This work became a powerful ideological
and spiritual call for national awakening and had a great influence on the formation
of public consciousness among the Kazakh people in the early 20th century.
At the end of
the curatorial hour, students recited poems by Mirzhakyp Dulatov from the
collection “Oyan, Qazaq!”, emphasizing the continuing relevance of his
ideas on national awareness, freedom, enlightenment, and civic responsibility.
