At the International Engineering and Technological University, the Department of International Cooperation held an informational meeting for second- and third-year students, dedicated to issues of academic mobility and opportunities for studying at foreign partner universities.
During the meeting, it was announced that the application process for participation in academic mobility programs had begun. Students were informed about the main eligibility requirements, selection stages, application deadlines, as well as the specifics of studying abroad within the framework of existing inter-university agreements.
The main presentation was delivered by Karlygash Shokhaeva, Director of the Department of International Cooperation at METU. In her speech, she provided information about foreign partner universities and outlined the current priority destinations for academic mobility. In particular, it was noted that partner universities in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Turkey, Russia, and Kyrgyzstan are ready to host METU students as early as the spring semester.
In addition, students who had previously participated in academic mobility programs also spoke during the event. Madina and Sara, fourth-year students of the “Food Production” educational program, shared their personal experience of studying abroad. Last year, they completed one semester of study at SDU University (Süleyman Demirel University) in Isparta, Turkey. They spoke about the academic process, living conditions, adaptation to a new educational and cultural environment, and answered questions from students interested in participating in mobility programs.
Special attention during the meeting was given to issues of academic adaptation, credit recognition, organizational aspects, and the advantages of international educational experience.
Holding such meetings contributes to increasing student awareness, enhancing international engagement, and motivating students to participate in academic mobility programs. The Department of International Cooperation at METU continues its systematic work to expand international partnerships and create favorable conditions for student academic mobility.
