At the International Engineering and Technological University, a meeting was held with students participating in the Academic Mobility Program on the eve of their departure to foreign universities for the spring semester.
Karlygash Nurlanovna Shokhayeva, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, addressed the students with welcoming and farewell remarks, wishing them successful studies, high academic achievements, new knowledge and valuable international experience, and emphasizing the importance of representing the University with dignity abroad.
In the current spring semester, 70 METU students representing all academic programs of the University are participating in the Academic Mobility Program. All students have received official invitation letters from partner universities abroad and will begin their departure to the host institutions starting from tomorrow.
During the meeting, issues related to academic adaptation, the specifics of the educational process at foreign universities, as well as organizational and administrative aspects of staying abroad were discussed. Students were provided with recommendations on successful integration into the international academic environment, compliance with academic requirements, and proper representation of the University.
In the spring semester, METU students will study at the following partner universities abroad:
Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (China);
Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (Türkiye);
Kastamonu University (Türkiye);
Baku State University (Azerbaijan);
Astrakhan State Technical University (Russian Federation);
Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi (Republic of Uzbekistan);
Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov (Kyrgyz Republic).
Special attention was given to students who will depart for their studies in the coming days, including those heading to Kastamonu University (Türkiye). Representatives of the Department of International Cooperation warmly wished the students successful studies, high academic achievements, enriching professional and cultural experiences, and dignified representation of the International Engineering and Technological University abroad.
It was also noted that the remaining participants of the Academic Mobility Program will depart to their host universities next week in accordance with the approved schedule.
In conclusion, it was emphasized that participation in the Academic Mobility Program contributes to the development of students’ professional competencies, the expansion of their international experience, the strengthening of intercultural dialogue, and the enhancement of graduates’ competitiveness in the global labor market.
The Department of International Cooperation continues its active efforts to expand the geography of academic mobility and create new opportunities for international education for METU students.
