A Parents’ Meeting on Student Dormitory Accommodation Held at the University

At the International Engineering and Technology University (METU), the Youth Policy Department held a meeting with parents to discuss issues related to student accommodation in the university dormitory. The meeting served as an important platform for open communication and strengthening cooperation between the university and students’ families.

During the meeting, parents were provided with detailed information on the dormitory admission procedure, living conditions, and measures aimed at ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for students. Special attention was given to internal regulations, discipline, and students’ responsibility for maintaining order and taking care of university property.

Representatives of the Youth Policy Department explained the mentoring and educational support system in the dormitory, feedback mechanisms, and procedures for promptly addressing emerging issues. Parents were also informed about whom to contact and how to seek assistance during their children’s stay in the dormitory.

The meeting was held in an open dialogue format, allowing parents to ask questions, express their concerns, and receive clear and comprehensive answers. This approach helped reduce potential concerns, increase trust, and highlight the university’s commitment to student well-being.

Such meetings contribute to strengthening partnership between the university and parents, creating favorable conditions for student adaptation, and fostering a responsible attitude toward dormitory life. The university plans to continue organizing similar open meetings to support students and their families.
