Visit of the Invited Professor within the “Visiting Professor” Program
Within the framework of the “Visiting Professor” program aimed at strengthening international cooperation and academic mobility, the International Engineering and Technological University hosted Professor Elmira R. Salnikova from the University of Belgrade (Serbia) from February 4 to 13, 2026. She holds a PhD and a Doctor of Sciences degree in Environmental Protection and Technologies and serves as a Research Professor at the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research (Belgrade).
During the visit, Professor Salnikova delivered lectures and practical classes for 2nd–3rd year students of the educational program 6B08103 – “Horticulture and Agro-Soil Science” in the disciplines “Soil Fertility” and “Reclamation of Degraded Lands.” The sessions addressed current issues of soil degradation, carbon sequestration, and modern international approaches to land restoration and sustainable land resource management.
In addition, the professor provided consultations for faculty members, master’s students, and young researchers on preparing scientific articles for publication in international peer-reviewed journals ranked in Q1–Q3 quartiles. Special attention was paid to the structure of scientific papers, journal selection, proper formatting, and increasing publication activity.
As part of the visit program, Professor Salnikova, together with the Head of the Department, visited the U.U. Uspanov Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry, where prospects for further scientific cooperation and potential areas of joint research were discussed.
Following the meetings, with the support of the invited professor, an agreement was reached to prepare and conclude a cooperation agreement with the Research Center for Ecology and Environment of Central Asia LLP.
The visit contributed to strengthening international partnerships, expanding scientific collaboration, developing joint research projects, and increasing students’ and young researchers’ interest in contemporary international scientific trends.
