On February 17, 2026, the Academic Committee of the educational program 6B07501 – “Standardization and Certification” held a meeting at the department with the participation of employers, experts, and students. The agenda included the modernization of the curriculum in accordance with current professional requirements and international standards.
Alymbekov Mayramkul Dzhekshebaevich – Technical Expert of LLP “NCA” and Senior Specialist at LLP “GZO “Almaty-Standard” – proposed to include the course “Theoretical and Applied Mechanics” in the curriculum. It was noted that the course contributes to the development of students’ engineering foundation, understanding of physical processes, evaluation of product compliance with standards, conducting tests and examinations, and analysis of product strength, reliability, and safety.
Tokhtiyarova Guzel Molutovna – Head of OPS at LLP “GZO “Almaty-Standard” – proposed including the course “Fundamentals of Technical Regulation,” highlighting its importance for forming a systematic understanding of the state technical regulation system, technical regulations, mandatory requirements for products, and practical skills in working with normative documents.
Expert-auditor of LLP “Business Expert KZ” Kubeeva Aiganym Sangeldinovna proposed renaming the course “Quality Audit” to “Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems.” The new name aligns with international terminology, ISO 19011 standards, and reflects modern risk-oriented approaches to auditing various management systems.
From the students, 3rd-year student Dauletkul Bereke expressed interest in studying specialized courses in English to enhance academic mobility, professional competitiveness, and the ability to work with international standards.
Based on the Academic Committee meeting:
Rename the course “Standardization and Technical Measurements” to “Standardization and Technical Regulation”;
Rename the course “Quality Audit” to “Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems”;
Make curriculum adjustments: remove the course “Quality Management System in SS, OSH” and include the course “Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.”
These decisions aim to modernize the program content, enhance its practical orientation, and align it with current professional and regulatory requirements in the field of standardization and certification.
