METU Hosts Informative Seminar on Gender Policy

On December 4, 2025, the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines and World Languages at the International University of Engineering and Technology (METU) organized an informative and educational seminar focused on the key aspects of gender policy implementation.

The seminar was opened by the Head of the Department, Zharylkasyn Zhappasov. In his welcoming remarks, he emphasized that fostering a gender culture and adhering to the principles of equality are vital components of a modern university’s social strategy and a prerequisite for the development of a civil society.

Key Speakers and Participants:

Zhanyl Tukebayeva - Associate Professor of the Department and keynote speaker. Her report detailed the legal and social mechanisms for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for men and women in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Galina Tsyrenzhapova - Associate Professor of the Department, who presented a profound analysis of modern gender roles and the significance of enhancing legal literacy among the youth.

Main Objectives and Topics: The event aimed to clarify the principles of gender equality and promote equal opportunities. The discussion covered:
