On April 4, 2026, a
round table dedicated to sustainable development and the implementation of the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) was held in the academic groups BT-25-1p
and HTOV-25-1p.
During the event,
student Baymuratov Adilet informed the students about the establishment of a
student club on sustainable development at the department. He presented in
detail the structure of the club, its goals and key areas of activity focused
on the development of an ecological culture, the introduction of principles of
sustainable consumption and support for student initiatives in the field of ESG
approaches.
It was also noted that
the club operates within the METU Green Future student community, which unites
active students interested in promoting sustainable development ideas. The
community acts as a platform for the implementation of environmental, educational
and social projects aimed at improving environmental literacy, forming a
responsible attitude to the environment and developing leadership competencies
among young people.
During the discussion,
special attention was paid to involving students in initiatives aimed at
fostering environmental and social responsibility, as well as expanding their
participation in projects related to achieving the SDGs at the university and
society levels.
