On March 5,
2026, Professor S.T. Mirzhakypova, Head of the ACCA Educational Program
at the International Engineering and Technological University (METU), took part
in two significant professional events held in Almaty, aimed at developing the
professional qualifications system and strengthening collaboration between
education and business.
In the first
half of the day, the professor participated as a speaker in a round table
dedicated to the alignment of academic training with labor market needs in the
financial and economic sector. The event addressed key challenges related to
the transformation of the finance profession, as well as practical approaches
to preparing competitive specialists in line with current employer
expectations.
Particular
attention was given to strengthening the role of higher education institutions
within the qualifications system, including the development of professional
standards, the involvement of the academic community in their updating, and the
expansion of cooperation with professional organizations and employers.
In the second
half of the day, the professor attended the ACCA Membership Ceremony,
where new members and Fellow status recipients were honored. The event became
an important platform for professional networking and the exchange of
experience with representatives of the international professional community,
employers, and experts in the fields of finance and audit.
Participation in
these events contributes to strengthening the university’s position as an
active contributor to the development of a modern professional qualifications
system and the integration of international standards into the educational
process.
