On April 14, 2026,
a master class on "Genetically modified products and prospects for their
use in Kazakhstan" was held at the Department of Biochemical Engineering.
The speaker was Masimzhan Tursynovich Velyamov— Doctor of Biological Sciences,
Academician of the National Academy for Food Safety of the Russian Federation.
During the event,
modern approaches to the creation of genetically modified organisms, their role
in ensuring food security, as well as possible risks and benefits of their use
were considered. Special attention was paid to the prospects of introducing GMO
products in Kazakhstan, taking into account environmental, economic and
legislative aspects.
The master class
aroused great interest among students and teachers, allowing them to expand
their knowledge in the field of biotechnology and discuss topical issues of
agricultural science development.
