On April 15, 2026, the Department of Biochemical Engineering hosted a master class on "Actions of the population during an earthquake". The event was aimed at improving students` knowledge and practical skills in the field of safety and protection in emergency situations.

The master class was conducted by the senior officer of the Civil Defense Department of the Department of Emergency Situations of Almaty, Lieutenant Colonel Baimukhaibetova Sandugash Amantayevna.

During the lesson, the participants got acquainted with the basic rules of earthquake behavior, evacuation algorithms, as well as measures to reduce the risk of injury. Special attention was paid to practical recommendations, including actions in buildings, on the street and in public places.

In addition, students were advised to prepare a so-called "disturbing suitcase" in advance. During the master class, its contents were clearly demonstrated: the necessary documents, a first-aid kit, a supply of water and food, a flashlight, communications equipment and other basic necessities.

The students actively participated in the discussion, asked questions and analyzed possible emergencies, which contributed to a better assimilation of the material.
