A 3rd-year student of METU, Khamit Batyrkhan Bolatkhanuly, enrolled in the 6B07203 — “Food Production Technology and Engineering” educational program, has achieved outstanding success on the international sports stage by setting a world record in his weight and age category.
Within the framework of the Asian Strength Sports Championship held in the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Dalanın Quaty 6,” which took place from April 24 to 26, 2026, in the city of Karaganda, the athlete won two first-place titles and delivered an impressive performance in streetlifting — classic parallel bar dips.
Khamit set a world record by performing the exercise with an additional weight of 100 kg. This achievement represents not only a personal milestone but also a significant accomplishment for national sports.
