METU students won prize-winning places at the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad held at the Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev.

On April 24, 2026, the XVIII Republican Subject Olympiad in the educational program B059 “Communications and Communication Technologies” was organized at Almaty University of Power Engineering and Telecommunications named after Gumarbek Daukeev (Energo University). Students of International Engineering and Technological University (METU) also took an active part in the Olympiad.

 Durin the Olympiad, students representing the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering demonstrated a high level of knowledge and received prizes and certificates of appreciation. In particular:

 

Egamberdiev Shukhrat Bakhtiyor Ugli, a student of group RET-23-1k — won 3rd place;

Bekbergen Balausa Talgatkyzy, a student of group RET-23-1k — was awarded a certificate of appreciation;

Kassimova Maira Nurgaliyevna, a student of group RET-24-1k — was awarded a certificate of appreciation.

 In addition, Tazhibay Isatay Serikuly, a lecturer of the Department of Smart Technologies in Engineering who supervised the students academically, was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to the development of education and science.

 These achievements once again confirmed the high quality of education at International Engineering and Technological University (METU), as well as the high professional level of its students and teaching staff.
