An important meeting on the topic “Academic Integrity and Compliance at METU” was held for METU students with the participation of the university administration.The event was organized within the “Sanaly Urpaq” project and aimed to promote an anti-corruption culture and ensure transparency during the upcoming examination session.
During the meeting, Compliance Officer Daniyar Ismailov explained the key responsibilities of the compliance service and emphasized the importance of academic integrity principles. A special social video on corruption prevention was also shown, followed by discussions on improving students’ legal awareness.
Dina Ryskeldi, Director of the Youth Policy Department, presented the results of a social survey conducted at the end of the first semester.
“The survey results show that the majority of students support academic integrity and consider fair education a core value. This indicates that the principle of a ‘Clean Session’ is firmly established at our university,” she noted.
Venera Mashenbayeva, Director of the Registrar’s Office, provided a detailed explanation of the rules and regulations for the upcoming exam session. In particular, students received important information about exam requirements, the consequences of using cheat sheets and gadgets, and the transparency of the grading system.
At the end of the meeting, students asked their questions and received comprehensive answers. The METU administration encouraged all students to rely on their own knowledge and uphold the principles of academic integrity during the upcoming examination session.
