Associate Professor of the
International Engineering and Technological University, Zhanyl Tukebayeva,
served as a member of the jury for a poetry competition dedicated to the 90th
anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh poet, writer, public figure, and diplomat
Olzhas Suleimenov.
The competition was held at the
Ruzuddinov Higher Medical and Dental College with the support of the
International Anti-Nuclear Movement "Nevada–Semey." The event brought
together students, teachers, representatives of public organizations, and
admirers of Olzhas Suleimenov’s literary legacy.
The participation of a
representative of the International Engineering and Technological University as
a jury member reflected the high professional and academic standing of the
university’s faculty. As part of the competition program, the jury evaluated
participants’ expressive reading skills, stage presence, depth of understanding
of the poetic works, and overall performance quality.
According to the organizers, the
competition aimed to promote the literary heritage of Olzhas Suleimenov, foster
young people`s interest in literature and poetry, and strengthen spiritual,
moral, and patriotic values. The participants demonstrated a high level of
preparation, creativity, and genuine interest in studying the works of this
prominent figure of Kazakh literature.
Particular interest was generated by
presentations from representatives of the International Anti-Nuclear Movement
"Nevada–Semey," who spoke about Olzhas Suleimenov’s contribution to
the global movement for peace and nuclear disarmament. This allowed
participants to gain a deeper understanding not only of the poet’s literary
achievements but also of his significant public and social activities.
The International Engineering and
Technological University places great importance on the development of
cultural, humanitarian, and educational initiatives. The participation of METU
faculty members in socially significant events contributes to strengthening
cooperation between educational institutions, expanding academic partnerships,
and promoting cultural values among young people.
